I approve of the fact that Nightwing takes center stage. Absolute favorite bat cast character next to Batgirl (which I know is shocking considering my blog, pics, bio....)
The Dick Grayson vs Jason Todd debate could go on for hours! *grins*
However I must admit my loyalty to Mr.Grayson is multifold. Not only is he one of Bab's oldest friends (and if the writers would quit FRAKKING with it, her greatest romance.) But he's the original Robin and I was...*sniffs* there as an impressionable lass of 13 when he walked down the stairs of the Titans tower and into mythology as Nightwing. *sighs* Once George Perez draws 'em, I'm hooked...
I'd be happy with either one of them (Nightwing or Jason Todd), but I think I'd only want Jason Todd because he is such a cool character and so underused.... I really would prefer Jason Todd as Red Hood.
Catwoman? Really? What would we call her? Catbatwomanman?
I don't think The Mummy will get it. Unless Grant Morrison is writing. Then all bets are off.
I don't see Jason Todd getting the nod either. He's a bit too bloodthirsty to wear the cape and cowl, which didn't work in the past (see Azrael). JT is more compelling as a thorn in everyone's side.
Tim Drake would be interesting, but would have to endure a lot of cracks from me referring to him as "Batman Jr." I like Tim just the way he is, which means I'd like him to stay as Robin.
I'm totally all for Dick Grayson taking over the cowl. He's more than earned it. In fact, I think I'd be pretty upset if anyone else got the mantle other than Dick, but then that's because maybe I assumed he'd always be the first choice to succeed Bruce (he'd be my first choice). I grew up with Dick Grayson (not in the literal sense) and have great fondness for the character so there is monster bias. Plus we should support more characters named Dick, because it's fun to say.
How fun would it be to watch Dick and Jason running around as Batman and Robin? Get Peter Tomasi to write it ala Nightwing #143 for extra guaranteed awesometivity.

Oh. Oh, I wish I'd seen that and asked for it.
OB: Jason Todd is best. We can fight it out on Sun. :)~

I'm partial towards anyone named "Todd" but I think that Grayson's earned it.
