New Store Logo!

After being responsible for the shop's logo since the beginning, I've finally decided to pass the buck onto someone far more talented than myself. Don't get me wrong; I've liked making the various logos for the shop(s) over the years. But... with all of the other work I am doing for the shop, the con, and my own works (freelance and private), I have not had any time to really devote to upgrading our defining "brand", so to speak. To be perfectly honest, too, I've felt that I had designed myself into a bit of a corner. Being too close to the subject on a daily basis has not helped me start fresh, and like any artist, I'm never happy with what I come up with...

Enter Chris Bishop, an artist and designer from Washington D.C. that I came across a while ago. In fact, I'm sure some of you out there are familiar with his work... anyone remember the t-shirt with the two unicorns making sweet, sweet love under a rainbow? He did that.

Anyway, I've dug his simple style of work since day one, and figured it couldn't hurt to have someone completely removed from The Comic Stop to give it a go. Well, after a couple of months of back and forth and tweaking, here are the end results:

That's quite a new look for the shop. Kinda snazzy!

So do we all get buttons?

Brian!!! It's Amie. :) I tracked you down on the web - muhahahaha.

Hey you, I am going to hit the Emerald City Comic Con this year, so I will definitely find your booth. Are you planning on working it both days???

It's been too long, my friend.

I'm glad to hear that everyone digs the new logo.

I'm definitely having some t-shirts made up for sale, but buttons hadn't occurred to me... I'll have to look into that. I was thinking about stickers, though...

The new logo looks great & the "black bubbles" are sort of an homage to Jack Kirby, sweet!
